Our Founding

     When Qutie & Anita started mixing lotions and scrubs in the kitchen they had one goal in mind. “To make products that didn’t make Anita go into anaphylactic shock.”

      In mid 2013, Anita woke up one Saturday morning almost unrecognizable. Her face was swollen, and she was having difficulty breathing. Qutie wanted to take Anita to the emergency room; however, Anita hates hospitals, and with some convincing, she was able to persuade her mom that she would be fine to see an allergist on Monday. This would be the first of many visits to the allergist. The reactions became so bad and frequent that Anita needed to go to the hospital. The doctors put her on a regimen of almost twelve pills a day and three breathing treatments just to live a normal life.

     ​  Though what medically brought about the allergies still remains a mystery. The doctors suspect Anita has Mast Cell Activated Syndrome, or Mast Cell Disease for short, which simply means she’s predisposed to going into anaphylactic shock and are treating her on a clinical basis for this. Anita can get set off by smells, physical contact with people or objects that have allergens on them she’s allergic to like: pollen, food, certain fragrances to name a few.

        That’s why Qutie’s Body Bar is made from organic, simple, safe & food grade ingredients. Qutie wanted to leave out all the things that her daughter reacted to in traditional beauty products.

        With the help of our creative director, we combine the love of great drinks with our body care line. The result, is a line of products made from organic and natural ingredients inspired by the smell and taste of your favorite drinks.
Handmade

             Each product is a recipe that was painstakingly made by our creative director. She spends hours thinking of the best combinations to create a luxurious line with the smell of a popular drink. 

​           She then heads into the Qutie kitchen to carefully make each product with all organic butters, oils, fruits, teas, herbs and the best essential oils that is safe on the skin and beneficial to our health.
